Kyukpa - Breaking

Breaking;  is used as a way for a Taekwondo student to measures the precision and power of his/her techniques strikes and kicks.

Because offensive techniques may be fatal, students are not able to use full power when practicing against an opponent.

By breaking solid objects, such as boards and bricks, they may measure their accuracy, concentration of power, and strength of will.

We employ the the art of breaking in traditional Martial Arts to demonstrate ones developed power and focus. Generally we use 1" pine boards cut into 12" x 12" sections. Junior student kyukpa demonstrations may use smaller boards.
